Extreme-pressure (EP) greases are lithium- and lithium-complex-thickened lubricants with EP additive packages that protect metal surfaces under shock loads and high contact pressures. The range spans NLGI 00 and 0 semi-fluid grades for centralized lubrication systems through NLGI 2 and 3 for bearing and gear applications, with lithium-complex grades for higher temperatures and MoS2 (moly) grades adding solid-lubricant protection under severe loads.
